Blast'D! Arena is a party arena inside Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick, Maryland. It is run by Pickle'd Pink, LLC (DBA Blast'D!). When this page says "we" or "us," it means Blast'D!.
This page explains what information we collect on blastdarena.com and at the arena, what we do with it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at play@blastdarena.com.
THE SHORT VERSION
- We collect what we need to run your party: who is booking, how to reach you, and who is playing.
- Square handles card payments. We never see or store your full card number.
- We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
- We use Google Analytics and our own simple visitor counter to see how the site is used. Google's advertising features are turned off.
- Every news email has an unsubscribe link. You can reply STOP to any text.
- Email play@blastdarena.com any time to see or delete your information.
What we collect, and when
When you book a party
- Your name, email, and phone number.
- The party details: date, time, package, number of players, add-ons, and any promo code.
- What you're celebrating. For a birthday, we ask for the birthday child's first name and the age they're turning.
- The age range of the players and how many guests you plan to bring.
- Anything you write in the notes box, such as allergies or accessibility needs. We use this only to run your party safely.
- How you heard about us.
If you start a booking and don't finish, we keep what you entered and may send you one email about the time slot you picked. It has an unsubscribe link, and we don't send it if you've unsubscribed.
After you book, you can invite your guests from your party page. For each guest you can add the child's name and a parent's email and phone number. We use those to send the waiver link and party reminders.
When you buy a gift card
We collect the recipient's name and email, your name, your email for the receipt, an optional message, and an optional delivery date. We use them to issue the gift card and to email it, with your name and message, to the person it's for, right away or on the date you picked.
When you sign a waiver
Every player needs a signed waiver. A parent or guardian signs for anyone under 18. The waiver collects:
- The signer's first and last name, email, and phone number.
- Each player's first and last name and date of birth.
- Your typed signature, the date and time you signed, and the internet (IP) address you signed from.
- Which party it's for, if you signed through a party invite.
If you sign through a party's invite link, the party host can see your name, email, phone number, and whether your waiver is signed. That way the host knows who is coming and who still needs to sign.
The waiver includes a photo and video release. It gives us permission to use photos and video taken at the arena to promote Blast'D!. If you have a concern about a photo or video of your child, email us.
When you register for a tournament or league
- Your team name, and the captain's or player's name, email, and phone number.
- Your teammates' names and emails, if you add them. We email each teammate a link to join and pay.
For public tournaments, team names and first names may appear on the tournament page. We never show emails, phone numbers, or last names there.
When you join our email list
We collect your email, plus your name, phone number, and interests if you give them to us. We also note which page you signed up on.
When you contact us
- The "Message us" form collects your name, email, and message.
- The group and corporate event form collects your company, name, email, phone, group size, preferred dates, and message.
Both go to our team by email so we can write back. We keep a record of the conversation.
When you sign in
We don't use passwords. You enter your email and we send you a sign-in link that works once and expires after 15 minutes. You get an account automatically when you book, sign a waiver, or register for a tournament or league, so you can manage it later.
Your account holds your email, your name, and when you last signed in. To keep accounts safe, we also log the IP address and browser used to request a sign-in link and to sign in.
At the arena: games, scores, and cameras
Players can play under a nickname on our arena scoreboard. Before the party, the host can share a link where each player picks a nickname and a team. It can also take the player's age, a parent's phone number, and notes about allergies or accessibility. That link only works with the party's code from the booking. A parent should fill it in or help their child with it.
The scoreboard records teams, scores, and game highlights. During a game, the live scoreboard shows players by nickname or first name. Our public stats pages show first names or nicknames, teams, and scores. Results from a private party are not published on our site by default. Results from tournaments and leagues may be published on our recap pages and can be found with our site search. If you want a result taken down, email us.
The arena has cameras over the game floor. When they're switched on, the video is streamed online so it can be shown live on a page for guests, locked with a code we give out at the arena. If we make a highlight video of your party, we share it with the host by a private link. It isn't listed anywhere on our site, but anyone who has the link can watch, download, and share it.
When you watch the live scoreboard online
Our online scoreboard asks for your email and sends you a sign-in link. While you watch, we record:
- When you watched, for how long, and which game was on.
- Your IP address and the city, region, and country it points to. We use an outside lookup service to turn the IP address into a place.
- A device code made from your browser's settings, like screen size and time zone. It's saved in your browser so we can count repeat visits.
- Your precise location, but only if you tap "Share precise location" and allow it.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Square. You type your card details into Square's secure payment form, and Square processes the payment. We never see or store your full card number.
For parties, you pay a deposit when you book and the balance is charged automatically 48 hours before your party. To do that, Square keeps your card on file. We keep only Square's reference to it. Square also receives your name, email, and phone number to process the payment. Square's own privacy notice covers what Square does with it.
Emails and text messages
Emails about your booking
When you book, we email you a confirmation, payment reminders and receipts, party reminders, and a thank-you after the party with a link to leave us a Google review. If your party used the scoreboard, we may email you a game recap. Waiver signers get a copy of their waiver confirmation.
News emails
We only send news if you ask for it: by joining our email list, or by ticking "Send me Blast'D! news" when you sign a waiver, register for a tournament or league, or pay a team share. That box is never ticked for you, and teammates a captain adds are never signed up. Every news email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and your email app's own unsubscribe button works too. Sending us a question through the "Message us" or group event forms does not add you to our news list.
Our news emails include a tiny image and tracked links. They tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, along with the IP address and the browser or email app that opened it. If you turn off images in your email app, we can't see opens.
Text messages
We only text you if you've agreed to it. Our texts are about your booking: for example, a link to manage your party, a link to pay an invoice, or your game recap. We don't send marketing texts, and we don't share your phone number with anyone for their own marketing.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Analytics
We use two tools to understand how people use our website. Neither one receives your name, email, phone number, what you type into forms, or your card details.
Our own visitor counter
Our technology partner, Made By 1891, runs a simple visitor counter for us at events.madeby1891.com. It records which pages are viewed, which website sent you here, your approximate location (country, region, and city) and internet provider estimated from network data, and your device type, browser, operating system, and language. It also counts a few steps, like moving through the booking form or sending a form, and notes errors the site runs into. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't store your IP address.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics tells us which pages are viewed, how you arrived (for
example, from a search or a link), your device type, the approximate
location Google estimates, and the steps of a purchase: which party
package, gift card, or tournament you looked at, whether you started
checking out, and whether the purchase went through, with its dollar
value. It uses first-party cookies named
_ga and _ga_<id>, which hold a random
identifier and last up to two years.
Google's advertising features are turned off. Nothing is used for ad personalization or to target ads. We never send Google your name, email, phone number, what you typed, or your card details. Our booking system may also report each completed purchase and any refund (the order number, amount, and what was bought) directly to Google Analytics, tied to that same random identifier, so a sale still counts if your browser blocked the analytics script.
We don't load Google Analytics on sign-in pages, account and party management pages, the waiver form, the live scoreboard, or pages reached by a private link.
To stop Google Analytics on every site you visit, use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies and browser storage
We keep cookies to a minimum. We don't use advertising cookies.
- Sign-in cookie. Set only when you sign in. It keeps you signed in for up to a year and renews while you use the site. Signing out removes it.
- Google Analytics cookies.
_gaand_ga_<id>, described above. - Square. Square's payment form may set its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
We also save a few small notes in your browser's storage (not cookies):
- How you first found us: the ad campaign tag or website that sent you, and the first page you saw. If you book or send a form, this goes with it so we know which links and ads work.
- The device code for the live scoreboard (only if you use it), and whether you've entered the live page code.
- Small reminders, like whether you closed the email sign-up bar.
Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google to download them.
Who we share information with
We share information only with companies that help us run Blast'D!, and only what they need to do that job:
- Square processes payments and keeps cards on file for party balances.
- Google provides Google Analytics and our website fonts.
- Made By 1891 builds and runs our website, booking system, and visitor counter, and can access our systems to support them.
- Email and text message delivery providers send our emails and texts.
- Hosting and network providers store our website and data and carry the arena camera stream.
- A location lookup service turns the IP address of online scoreboard viewers into a city.
As described above, party hosts can see their guests' waiver status and contact details, and published game results are visible to anyone. We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for anyone's advertising.
Children
Lots of our guests are kids, so here's how we handle their information.
- A parent or guardian books the party and signs the waiver for anyone under 18. We get children's names, dates of birth, and ages from that adult.
- We don't set up separate accounts for kids at parties. A child's game results are tied to the account of the parent or guardian who signed their waiver.
- Our website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
If you think a child under 13 gave us information without a parent, email play@blastdarena.com and we'll delete it.
How long we keep information
We keep booking, payment, and waiver records for as long as we need them to run the business and for our legal, tax, and insurance records. Waivers are legal documents, so we keep them even after they're no longer valid for entry. If you unsubscribe from news emails, we stop sending them and keep a note so we don't add you back by mistake. If you want your details deleted entirely, just ask.
Your choices
- News emails: tap "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any news email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any text.
- See, fix, or delete your information: email play@blastdarena.com from the address we have on file. We'll tell you what we have and fix or delete it. A few records, like payments and signed waivers, we may need to keep for legal reasons, and we'll tell you if that applies.
- Google Analytics: use Google's opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.
- Location: sharing your precise location on the live scoreboard is always optional.
We're a Maryland business, and this policy is written for our customers in the United States. If your state gives you extra privacy rights, email us and we'll help you use them.
Keeping it safe
Our site uses an encrypted connection. Card details go straight to Square. Sign-in links work once and expire quickly, and our booking and customer records need a staff sign-in. No system is perfect, so if you notice anything wrong, please tell us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
